"I am from" PoemI am from the prevalent era of technology,
from computers, cell phones, and iPods. I am from the house at the top of a chestnut hill, with twisted black trails and autumn leaves that haven't quite decomposed yet. I am from the freshly mowed grass, the unknown tree that once towered between my house and the house of my neighbors whose long gone limbs I remember as if they were my own. I am from laughter and humbleness, from Cabrera and Quinanola. I'm from OCD and diligence, and from long, black hair. I'm from you're so quiet, and you're so nice. I'm from be polite, and love your neighbors equally. I'm from Japan and the Philippines, and rice and lumpia. From Eric and Joy, from Lolo and Lola, from Nanay and Tatay, to the beach house with a big swimming pool for me to splash around in. I am from baby albums, and book cases. From Barbies dolls and Bratz. I am from imagination and creativity. |
"I am from" Poem Reflection:I chose to include my "I am from" Poem on this page because it shows who I am as a person and what I come from. Whoever reads it can get a grasp of what type of person I am, and they can also get an insight on my culture and childhood. This poem also shows how much I've grown as a writer, or in this case a poet, because of how much more thought I put into writing this poem as opposed to my "Biopoem."

"Biopoem" Reflection:My "Biopoem" is from way back to the beginning of this school year. I chose to have it on this page because it shows how much I knew as writer prior to this year. Of course, it is not one of the best writing pieces of mine. It is in fact a bit naive and cliche, but it does help whoever reads it understand the difference between then and now.
